About the Artist

Biography:

Eleanor “Ellie” Hooper is a Louisiana native and local artist specializing in watercolor and oils. Ranging from studio to en plein air paintings, Ellie shares her unique view of the world and the beauty of the Gospel of Jesus through art. If she's not painting or working as an NICU RN, you can find her in the garden, throwing pottery, traveling the world, or embarking on any number of crazy adventures. Ellie’s landscape work has been featured in multiple museums and juried shows. 

Artist Statement:

Ever since my childhood, I have marveled at the beauty of Louisiana: flowers, wind, sky, trees, culture. Some places are so profoundly still that they make you feel frozen in time and space and the only sound that splits the silence is the soft whoosh of a bird’s wings.  Other places move with such vibrance that you can feel the wind dancing in your hair and colors swirling in a magical song. My hope is that you will find a connection to the beauty that is Louisiana and see glimpses of the perfect beauty of its Creator.  It is such a joy to bring a little bit of Louisiana magic to my canvas to share with the world.
